2 Chainz simply cannot stop. Unlike many of his contemporaries, his skills seem to sharpen with age; his last album, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, was among his strongest releases thus far. Now, in the wake of leading a team of experienced hip-hop ballers during the East Vs. West Hip-Hop All Star Game, 2 Chainz has announced his fifth solo studio album Rap Or Go To The League. Tity Boi’s basketball skills are well documented, so it seems likely that this will be a personal project from the prolific Atlanta legend.

2 Chainz made the announcement on Instagram, dropping a trailer and lengthy caption: “With the height of racial tensions across America I felt I should do my part in explaining some of the brain washing formulas used in my community , this album not only touches on those who did succeed thru entertainment but those who didn’t ! Welcome to Rap or Go TO THE LEAGUE ! My 5th solo studio album and project that shows continued growth , success , and motivation which is playing a role in the shift of the trap paradigm.”

The project comes on the heels of his excellent The Play Don’t Care Who Makes It, which dropped a a few weeks back. Not only that, but 2 Chainz has also been hitting the radio alongside ScHoolboy Q, Saudi, and Kendrick Lamar with their Black Panther highlight “X.” Clearly, 2 Chainz still has much to say, and from the sound of it, Rap Or Go To The League will pick up where the autobiographical narrative of “Burglar Bars” left off.

During Cardi B’s appearance at the Maxim magazine party during the Super Bowl weekend,  her camp told some employees at the venue that Cardi couldn’t drink because of her pregnancy.

During the event there were 2 VIP areas– one side of the stage that was reserved artist and football players, and the other in the back of the stage which was reserved specifically for Cardi and her entourage.

Sources says Cardi asked a staff member to take her to the back to her VIP room, where alcohol was flowing. One of Cardi’s reps said she wanted to leave and did not want to be in a “party atmosphere” and preferred to stay in the area by the stage and drink Fiji water.

Cardi has repeatedly denied these sources and told Instagram “ No B*tch I’m just getting fat, Let me fat in peace.

Drake’s “God’s Plan” spends a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100chart (dated Feb. 10), gaining slightly to post the fourth-biggest week ever in U.S. streams.

Meanwhile, Justin Timberlake blasts in at No. 9 on the Hot 100 with “Say Something,” featuring Chris Stapleton, marking the second top 10 from Timberlake’s new album, Man of the Woods — released Friday (Feb. 2), ahead of his halftime show performance at Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis last night (Feb. 4).

As we do every Monday, let’s run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends all-genre streaming, airplay and sales data. All charts will update on tomorrow (Feb. 6).

As on the Hot 100, “Plan,” released on Young Money/Cash Money/Republic Records, tallies its second week atop the Streaming Songs chart, with 83.3 million U.S. streams in the week ending Feb. 1, according to Nielsen Music; that’s up 1 percent from its debut-week total of 82.4 million.

This week’s sum for “Plan” replaces last week’s as the fourth-greatest for a title in a week ever on Streaming Songs. It trails only Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” (103.1 million and 97.6 million in its first and second weeks, March 2 and 9, 2013, respectively, driven largely by viral videos incorporating the song’s official audio) and Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” (84.5 million; Sept. 16, 2017).

On the audio subscription services-based On-Demand Streaming Songs chart, “Plan” keeps at No. 1, dropping 16 percent to 57.4 million on-demand U.S. audio streams; still, the total is the second-highest in the chart’s history. Last week, the song bowed with a record 68 million, shattering the prior weekly mark of 44.4 million drawn by Kendrick Lamar’s’ “Humble.” (May 6, 2017).

“Plan” dips to No. 4 after starting at No. 1 on Digital Song Sales a week ago, declining by 49 percent to 65,000 downloads sold in the week ending Feb. 1. The track enters the Radio Songs chart as the list’s highest debut, at No. 30, with 35 million in all-format airplay audience, up 47 percent, in the week ending Feb. 4. “Plan” concurrently notches a second week at No. 1 on both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts.
